At the end of October, Samovyuk Ivan Hryhorovych, 35th Marine Brigade, 137th Separate Marine Infantry Battalion, junior lieutenant, platoon commander (commander of the assault group) died in the battles near Kherson.
Ivan was engaged in Greco-Roman wrestling almost all his life and shared the carpet with Olympic champion Zhan Beleniuk for eleven years. Following the call of his heart, Ivan went to defend his native land from the Russian invasion and will forever remain in our memory as a Hero. A hero who sacrificed his life for peace in his native country.
The International Charity Fund for the Development of Sports Wrestling handed over 100,000 hryvnias to the family of Lieutenant Samovyuk. It is our duty to remember our heroes and take care of their relatives.
